Presenting at AUSCRS

It was fantastic to be part of the Australian Cataract and Refractive Society Meeting (AUSCRS), as committee of management and speaker. The fun themes and frank exchange of scientific content and ideas, make it for a unique experience amongst international and local colleagues. Sharing thoughts and ideas helps us better our knowledge and outcomes for our patients.

I chaired the session on Presbyopia Correcting IOLs with “Death on the Nile” theme. It’s promising to see new development in IOL designs, pushing the boundaries to improve visual results whilst minimising side effects. There was robust debate in the “head-to-head” session, where I battled with amazing colleagues Lena Beckers, Karl Stonecipher, and Michael Lawless about extended depth of focus lenses.
